Sport Aus

Sport Australia works directly with sporting organisations, peak bodies, the Office for Sport, state and territory departments, institutes and academies of sport, and the business sector.  Now and into the future, Sport Australia will focus on three key roles: leading, enabling and investing.

Healthy, Liveable Communities

The NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Healthy, Liveable Communities investigates cost-effective built environment interventions to create healthy, liveable and equitable communities in Australia. They are a source of high-quality and policy-relevant research that informs healthy urban design and planning.

Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency

The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) is driving the regeneration of Perth. Our role as the redevelopment agency enables us to transform urban spaces and meet the challenges of a growing city by creating successful communities where people want to live, work and visit. With a strong, clear vision, innovative design and planning the MRA is building Perth’s capacity.

Department of Transport

Our key focus is on operational transport functions and strategic transport planning and policy across the range of public and commercial transport systems that service Western Australia. We connect people with goods and services through an intricate system of roads, railways, airports, ports and waterways and educate and regulate to keep them safe within those networks.

Department of Planning

The Department of Planning holds a state wide leadership responsibility in the planning of Western Australia through State Strategic Policy development, planning communities for the future, facilitating private and public investment, regulation and education. The Department adopts a strategic and holistic approach to achieve an effective balance between economic, social, environmental and sustainable outcomes.

Department of Health

Western Australia’s public health system provides safe, quality health care to 2.4 million Western Australians across an area of almost 2.5 million square kilometers. These standards contribute to Western Australia having one of the highest life expectancies in the world. In addition to its hospitals and health services, WA Health sets out to protect the health of Western Australians by promoting health, preventing disease and managing risks

Department of Sport and Recreation

The Department of Sport and Recreation is the lead agency responsible for the implementation of government policy and initiatives in sport and recreation. A key role of the department is to contribute to the healthy lifestyle of Western Australians by increasing physical activity in the community through sport and recreation.

South Australian Active Living Coalition

The Heart Foundation (SA) has been leading the SA Active Living Coalition since 2007. The Coalition’s purpose is “to create liveable environments that get more people active every day”. Membership on the Coalition is varied as responsibility for the design and creation of the built environment lie not only with health but also with urban planners, local government, developers, landscapers, designers, NGOs and others.

Department of Health and Ageing
