This checklist has been prepared as a tool to assist with the development of neighbourhoods and built environments that support walkability in areas of low socioeconomic advantage. The greater number of checklist items considered within the area influenced by a project, the more likely there will be healthy, walkable outcomes. The best outcomes will come from government agencies, land developers, health, social workers and the community working collaboratively, as each stakeholder group has an important role to play in the delivery of healthy communities.
